["Look me in the eyes … I said the eyes."]

REGARDEZ MOI DANS LES YEUX...
...JE DIT LES YEUX.

A one-handed model who posed in a bra for a charity ad campaign has become a European sensation.
The 35-year-old graphic designer has been swamped with requests for interviews from around Europe after appearing in a print ad for CAP48, a nonprofit organization that highlights disability issues in France and Belgium, Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper reported. Tanja Kiewitz, who was born with her left arm ending just below her elbow, is featured wearing a low-cut black bra, with a tagline that translates from French as: “Look me in the eyes … I said the eyes.”
“They see that I am above all a woman and can be beautiful and sexy, and that disability is secondary,” Kiewitz said. “I wanted people to confront the ambiguity of beauty and disability."
It seems the campaign has had the desired effect, capturing the attention of people around the continent.
“There’s been a huge reaction,” Kiewitz told the GlobalPost. “I’ve been besieged on Facebook. Mostly the reactions have been great, really positive feedback.
"I’ve got journalists from around the world calling,” she added. "It’s been a bit crazy.”
In addition to bringing recognition to the disability campaign, the ad has also made an impact on the charity’s coffers. CAP48 has raised more than 4 million euros — the equivalent of more than $5.5 million — from an annual telethon, 10 percent more than the previous year, the U.K. Daily News reported.

more "PINK":-)

[Have a look, it's such a great message in this short video!:-)]

You need to shake off those bad moods when they arrive. Keep shaking it off no matter how much people try to dump on you. Before you know it, you'll find victory from your bad mood. Watch this funny, but interesting video!:-)

"Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.
And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy;
And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields.
And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.
Much of your pain is self-chosen.
It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.
Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity:
For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen,
And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears."
- Khalil Gibran "The Prophet"

‎"... it's not about your scars, it's all about your heart."

[Click on the link to listen and keep reading, maybe it'll be more pleasant to read]

More than one month ago, I've written a post about letting go and I knew I didn't say it all, maybe I wasn't just finding proper words to express rightly and just the way I was thinking about it. So, I've found it! Paulo Coelho wrote about "Closing cycles", and it touches so many areas. It's so relevant, so I wanted to share his wise thoughts that he collected many years:

One always has to know when a stage comes to an end. If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through.
Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters - whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.
Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end?! Did you leave the house of your parents? Gone to live abroad? Has a long-lasting friendship ended all of a sudden? You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened.
You can tell yourself you won't take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that. But such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your children, your sister. Everyone is finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill.
Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away.
That is why it is so important [however painful it may be!!] to destroy souvenirs; move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home.
Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the visible wold, of what is going on in our hearts and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place.
Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them.
Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood.

Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss: this is only poisoning you, nothing else.
Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off, work that is promised but there is no starting date, decisions that are always put off waiting for the "ideal moment".

Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back. Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

P.S.: "Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life. Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust. Stop being who you were, and change into who you are now." - Paulo Coelho

Project PINK!! Like it!!:-)

"It starts with one step...
...first step is the hardest of all."
- Mokhtar Chahine

As October is breast cancer awareness month, Mokhtar Chahine, Hala Dakhil and Inas Hammoud did all their best in initiating the "Project PINK". It's aimed to have a social impact and a supporting nature to all those "women and men who have been there, whether to fight it, cure it, or just support it", also to help raise awareness in combating with "this leading cause of cancer death". And, in my opinion, it's an excellent start!!:-)

Here are some of the photos from this project:

Loneliness!

"Loneliness" by Alexandre Buisee, July 2008
SOURCE: link

Loneliness... it can kill you, or revive you! It depends on how you approach to it.

It can be a killer... when you feel miserable that you are lonely, when you constantly compare yourself to others, when you don't allow yourself to dream and say that "the best way to avoid a broken spirit is simply to stop allowing yourself to make steps"... when you jail yourself in a "painful cage"or in an invented "comfort zone".

On the other hand, loneliness can be a revival experience. It can help you discover yourself, the one who you really are and what are the real wishes and dreams you would like to fulfill. Sometimes, people live on autopilot regime and they forget to ask what do they really want. Loneliness can be a great "diamond polishing" time. It can be hard, as many "crappy" and "alluring" thoughts may jump in your head, but it's essential to define the real YOU and to separate the valuable in you from the stinking desert.

It may not be easy! And it hurts! "Taking the veil off" times seem to come! But it worths! Many valuable people passed through this... and they have changed the history...

[Why to shout?!]

Here is an interesting story I've found today. Seems to be a true conclusion, and a good lesson for us, people!!:-)
Have a nice reading:

A master asked his disciples:

‘Why do we shout in anger? Why do people shout at each other when they are upset?’ the disciples thought for a while, and one of them said
‘Because we lose our calm, we shout for that.’
‘But, why to shout when the other person is just next to you? ‘Isn’t it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice? Why do you shout at a person when you’re angry?’
The disciples gave him some other answers but none satisfied the master.
Finally he explained:
‘When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other through that great distance.’
Then the master asked:
‘What happens when two people fall in love? They don’t shout at each other but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is very small…’
And he finally said:
‘When they love each other even more, what happens?
‘They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love.
‘Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that’s all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.’

[Killing us softly - Advertising image of women]

Quite an interesting video I've watched today! Here is the last version of "Killing us softly" series:

The four videos from below are parts of the full video of "Killing us softly": really interesting and can be watched by both women and men. The film presents the ideas of girls and young women as well as those of the leading authorities in the fields of psychology of women and girls, eating disorders, gender studies, violence against women, and media literacy--and focuses their ideas on practical solutions and the best tactics for reclaiming the culture that is increasing today.

Dreams!

Dreams!!! Dreams!! Dreams!!! DON'T feel GUILTY that you have them, don't feel em·bar·rassed that they live there in your heart and that they don't want to leave, even if you try so hard to "adapt" yourself to some other people's wishes that are meant to be yours, even if you are being humiliated and told "it's time to have a real life, stop wishing because you'll never have".

It's hard! Maybe you can start thinking that they might be right and you are a psy·cho that wants a silly thing that must be forgotten and erased. But it doesn't happen to forget, neither to erase!! It's not that you are not trying, it simply doesn't work! And you know that that is your path and that is where you should go next, but because of fear or intimidation or manipulation or being threaten YOU stop, but your heart doesn't: it's beating and your spirit is there too.

Somehow these "dreams" define what we are meant on this earth for, somehow they are the sparkling lights in the dark we may face and somehow they give us power and inner peace or subtle joy and confidence that no matter how hard it is now, it will be better. "Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams."

"Fight for your dreams and they will fight for you."
- Paulo Coelho
